There is a small music shop in Broken Hill about 2 hours away from where we are. The bloke there makes his own XLR cables and assured me they are the best of the best! So I picked up a couple of those.. and while waiting for him to make me a cable, I spotted a couple of little Behringer monitors, sitting on a counter off to the side of the till. Of course this is nearly an essential part of any studio!! The monitors I used for Unconventional Shining died just after I had finished the album so I had been planning to rely on headphones this time around. BUT It’s so much easier to get a sense of what you’re creating if you can listen to it in real air and not just inside a pair of headphones…
Consequently, the set of monitors are now mine and fit beautifully into the little studio I’m creating my room perched way out in rural Australia
Yes. Big smiles all around.
