New Gear. Big Smiles.

There is a small music shop in Broken Hill about 2 hours away from where we are. The bloke there makes his own XLR cables and assured me they are the best of the best!   So I picked up a couple of those.. and while waiting for him to make me a cable, I spotted a couple of little Behringer monitors, sitting on a counter off to the side of the till.   Of course this is nearly an essential part of any studio!!  The monitors I used for Unconventional Shining died just after I had finished the album so I had been planning to rely on headphones this time around.   BUT It’s so much easier to get a sense of what you’re creating if you can listen to it in real air and not just inside a pair of headphones…

Consequently, the set of monitors are now mine and fit beautifully into the little studio I’m creating my room perched way out in rural Australia :)  Yes.  Big smiles all around.
