TOWNSVILLE QLD AUSTRAILA
is my home right now.
Very interesting setting up a bit of a life in a town where I don’t really know anyone. I guess I find ‘that home feeling’ in being near the water, that the population is near the size of the town that I grew up in, and that there is a farmer’s market every Sunday for me to wander around in.
At this very moment I am listening to FEIST‘s new album and it’s absolutely blowing my mind… She, and her production team (Chilly Gonzales, Mocky and Valgeir Sigurðsson) are brilliant. I’m also discovering some rad Australian music. GOTYE is pretty great, he recorded his last album himself, on his mac laptop in a barn. How wonderful is that?
I have been hiking this hill that is very ‘Grouse Grind’ -like (Vancouver folks will know what I mean..) It overlooks Townsville and the view is pictured above. The only thing is that the temperature is increasing, and the tropical weather makes for a ‘bikram yoga’ -esque experience. Basically it’s a guarantee to be plastered with sweat. Soaked to the bone and it feels good.
